LICITATION

The auction house will accept online bids for lots in its catalogue during the period indicated. The online auction does not include a traditional event - offline, in term - as bids are only made on the Internet platform. Online bidding is possible after registration. You can use the online bidding function after logging in.

Registration steps for those who are already our customers (have received emails from us before):

Step 1: press the "login" button in the top right corner, then enter your email address and click on the "forgotten password" button;

Step 2: a "forgotten password" window will pop up, enter your email address again and press the "go" button;

Step 3: you will receive a link to the email address you have entered, which you can click on to enter the new password;

Step 4: save this new password and log in by clicking on the "login" button.

Once logged in, clicking on the current auction will take you to the auction catalogue where you will find the following functions and information:

In each auction catalogue, you will find the items currently listed by category. You can choose from the drop-down menu on the left side of the screen on a laptop or desktop, or from the centre of the screen on a mobile or tablet.

You can also select the topic closest to you in the "Books" category - you don't necessarily need to browse the entire collection. These topics are displayed in a blue frame under the catalogue number. You can navigate through the items one by one ("previous item" or "next item" or - if you already know the item number - enter the number in the "to the item number" box and press enter to get the item's bid page.

Bids must first be placed on the main auction (catalogue) page, then bids placed here will appear under "My Bids" (top right hand corner) marked with a "heart" pictogram, from where you can continue bidding. Alternatively, bids already placed will also appear under "My account → My current activity", where you can also track the progress of items you have already bid on.

If you are interested in an item but have not yet decided whether to bid on it, you can set it to "watched" status by clicking on the button icon in the top right-hand corner of the bid page, and then you can view and bid on the item on the main page under the same icon. Once you have placed your bid the item will be moved to the "my bids" panel. You can also track the status of your watched items under "My account → My current activity".

Current Bid: shows the current status of the online bid, the current winning bid.

Submit Bid: press the "Bid" button: if no one has bid on the lot yet, the bidding price is the first bid. All subsequent bids will be the amount bid according to the next bidding step. Please note, BIDS CANNOT BE CANCELLED! Pressing the bid button is subject to payment!

Start bid: indicates the starting time for online bidding on the lot.

Bid closing: indicates the closing time for online bids on the lot.

Remaining time: auction.net displays the time remaining until the online bidding for the lot closes and counts down.

Setting up a bidding agent: it is useful to set up a bidding agent if you do not want/can't follow the auction online, but you bid a fixed amount and the agent represents you in the bidding up to that limit. The bidding agent is an entry box, directly below the bid button, next to the item. You can enter any amount you like, BUT if the amount you enter does not match the bid increments, the site will accept the closest amount to one less. For example, you enter 30.500 Ft, but we don't have such a bid increment, so it will be 30.000 Ft. You select this and then click on the "set agent" button. The amount of the bidding agent is not public, only you can see it. You can also set up a bidding agent if you were the last bidder, in which case you are not bidding on yourself, but the agent will "price" your subsequent bids in case another buyer bids on that lot. You can change the agent during the auction, up and down. Up to any amount, and down: down from the previously set amount, BUT the modified amount cannot be less than the current winning price + 1 bid increment. At the same amount limit, the bidding agent wins over the regular bidder, i.e. the agent's bid placed earlier wins. If there are two agent settings with the same amount, the agent set first is still the winner.

Unsold lots can be reclaimed until the end of the auction using the "reopen" function - it works in the same way as the reclaimed lot in offline auctions - but can be bid for 10 minutes after the full auction has expired, at which point all reclaimed lots will close at the same time. The "reopen" button is located on the bidding page.

Items that are still unsold will be moved to the "AfterSale" menu on the main page. You can make an offer on the items displayed here, which may be lower than the starting price. The Auction House will contact you - after consultation with the seller - to confirm whether your bid has been accepted. Please note that a 20% auction commission will also be charged on aftersale bids!

Other terms:

Bid start and bid end: the start and end points of the online auction, between these two dates the online auction takes place.

Bidding increment: indicates the increments that can be offered for bids, within round limits. The bidding increment is displayed in round numbers.

Extension (in certain cases): lots do not expire and go to reopen status all at once, but expire 15 seconds after the indicated closing time. Any difference in the expiry date will be indicated separately when the auction is announced.CHANGE! If you place a bid in the last half minute on a lot that already has a bid, the expiry time of that lot will be extended by half a minute. Thus, a bid on a lot will close when there is a maximum of 1 bid in the last 30 seconds. The extension is marked on the bid page. Please note, the next lot will not wait until the previous lot has sold out! And it's important to know that you are the one scrolling the lots, not the system! (In this case - especially - you should use the Bid Agent function so that you can move on immediately).

Notifications:The auction.net system will send you an instant email notification during the online auction process if you have checked the "I want to be notified of every bid event that affects me" box under "my profile". These may include the following:

if you have placed a valid bid;

If your online bid has been overbid;

if you have set up a valid bidding agent;

if your bidding agent has made a valid bid;

if you won the lot;

Please also check your email account spam and other folders! It is possible that e-mails sent immediately by our system to certain e-mail addresses may not arrive immediately, but only with a slight delay (a few minutes) - for this reason, auction.net cannot be held responsible!

If you do not wish to receive all bid mails, you can turn this off and on under "my profile".

Notification at the end of the auction: In all cases, www.aukcio.net will send you a summary email of your winning bids, where you can check your winning items and choose the most suitable way to receive them by clicking on the link that suits you best.You can check this later under "My account → My previous activity".

Please set the exact time on your device, as you may miss an item due to a wrong setting!

Personal pick-up: the winning lots can be picked up at the office of Mike Portobello Auction House (1053 Bp. Múzeum krt. 27. 2nd floor, 10 gate bell) from Monday to Friday 11 am to 3 pm, but a phone appointment is required.
